I started my passion for art at around eight years old. My pieces were barely recognizable, but every mark that I made on the paper pushed me to keep trying. For years, I struggled with creativity and originality. It wasn’t until year sixteen that I found the “dark arts”. The art that was made to disturb and make people uncomfortable. My art. These pieces aren't made to disgust or revolt the viewed, but rather make them realize the realities of those haunted by mental illness. As someone engrossed in psychology and therapy, I strive to understand mental disease in order to help those trapped in it, and I can only hope that I have achieved what I set out to do.
